Segmentation
Mixpanel ensures that every ad, every offer and every campaign will have some degree of measureable impact. Mixpanel asserts, "Make your product better by measuring actions, not page views". You can ask questions pertaining to your consumer data such as "Do users of our mobile app share more videos via Facebook, Twitter, Email, or Google Plus". Mixpanel's segmentation tool conveniently simplifies SQL queries, a programming language designed for managing data, by making your questions visually appealing to whoever is interacting with the platform. Mixpanel emphasizes their platforms advantage of being able to ask important and complex questions to increase their analytics insights beyond trends.
Funnels
Mixpanel has a really neat aspect to their analytics platform in which they call Funnel Analysis, which allows you to see the drop off rate of engagement and where you lose customers. The business objective is to increase conversion rate, "the percentage of respondents who opted in or converted from prospects to customers (Hopkins and Turners, 2012). With funnels, you can visually measure how customers move through any series of events. Mixpanel even allows you to create funnels for past data. Check out the Mixpanel's funnel report below.
"Simply select any number of events and instantly create a report that uses all of your historical data. Even better, clicking between funnel steps will display the history between any two steps. This is a shortcut to see if progress is being made between steps over time." - Mixpanel.com
